Art Shows

Community Art Galleries of Collierville presents

CAG: August 21 to October 23 
Town Hall: The first group show, exclusively featuring the work of employees of the Town  of Collierville in various media. Employees in the show this year are Jaime Groce (Planning),  Carl Scott (General Services), Bradley Patterson (Planning), Nancy Boatwright (Planning),  and Don  Hailey (Lieutenant/Paramedic )
Harrell Theater: Brandi Newton is a graduate of the University of Memphis Art program. She has shown in several juried exhibits in Memphis, receiving awards in two of them. Her show explores the culture and usage of tobacco. She utilities coffee and tobacco as her media to explore the life and death of her grandfather, a life-long smoker stricken with lung cancer and emphysema.

CAG: August 21 to October 5

Morton Museum: Molly O’Connor is a  15 year old artist from Collierville. She shown with the Community Art Galleries of Collierville since 2015. She has received both Gold and Silver Merit Awards for her work in the Brooks Museum Mid-south Scholastic Art Awards on several occasions. Her show explores renditions of impressionist and abstract art, which she has titled “The Mini Monet Series.”

These exhibits are presented by the Morton Museum, the Collierville Arts Council and the Town of Collierville.

The Collierville Arts Council is a part of that experience and works to encourage, exhibit and promote this fine arts’ creativity. In addition, Collierville Community Art Galleries were created for the public to showcase artwork for the encouragement and development of artistic expression, and to nurture greater appreciation for art in our community. Each year, the Morton Museum and the Collierville Arts Council collaborate to develop this yearlong rotation of exhibitions in our three galleries.

Take advantage of these exhibitions by visiting our free public galleries. They are located at the Collierville Town Hall, 500 Poplar View Parkway with hours Monday- Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm; the Harrell Performing Arts Theatre, 440 W. Powell Road with hours Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm and during performances; and at the Morton Museum, 196 N. Main Street with hours Tuesday-Saturday, 10:00am-4:00pm.

All galleries are wheelchair accessible.
